Indian Retail Industry Attracts | Healthy Business Solution

Five years back, if a foreign brand was noticed it was considered either a gift from an overseas friend or relative or a trip to abroad or else an online purchase but due to the revolution in the Indian retail market, international brands have become more familiar and public.

Foreign brands in India are not limited to a retail category, but spread over a wide range of retail products like shoes, cosmetics, apparel, electronics, food, entertainment and others. These retail brands in India cover all price points starting from the cheap to the uber cool, with many ultra luxurious products being retailed in the Indian market.

Footwear retail in India has also attracted many international brands. Many brands like Aldo, Charles and Keith, Nine West, Bally have already won the loyalty of the people. It was a slow entry for the fashion footwear, but as far as the sports footwear is concerned, the three topmost brands have been available here for a quite a long time. Reebok India among them was the first one to be launched in India in 1995, followed by Nike and Adidas. The low-priced fashion footwear is mostly offered from Vietnam, China, Thailand and Malaysia. One of the earliest entries made in the Indian fashion footwear industry was by Ninewest in 2002 with their first outlet. Another footwear brand in the Indian footwear market is Bally, which earlier was only in Mumbai but will soon be seen in other cities including New Delhi. Aldo, which is one of the most wanted and desired brand among people was inaugurated in 2005 in Mumbai. The most exciting part of these brands is that they not only supply the footwear but renders accessories and other things as well.

Foreign apparel brands have also marked their entry in Indian retail market. Brands like Mango, Channel, Nautica, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger etc. have hit the market in a big way. Last year Channel India launched its brand in the country for which various events and shows were organized for the promotion. One such event was arranged at the Imperial Hotel for which the models were flown in from Paris. The show was a big hit leaving a great impact on the buyers.

The food and beverages industry in India is not far behind in attracting foreign investments and joint ventures. Food brands in India like Costa coffee, McDonald?s, and multiple pizza companies are favored by the young and the trendy. McDonald?s makes the maximum profit out of them because of their low cost food products which can serve the common man.

Luxury retail shops, which were initially found only in the five star hotels are not difficult to locate in today?s time. With Wal-mart, Tesco, Debenhams etc. either entering or planning to enter the Indian retail market, India surely has a great potential to be the best in the retail business and is all set to welcome the international brands. Foreign brands who took the initial risks have made a massive profit till now, and the companies are on a very positive and confident note, optimistic about the future of the retail scene in the country. Brands love India and for Indians, brand is a style statement.
