Almost two years after the release of Clash of the Titans, Sam Worthington is back as Perseus, the son of Zeus who struggles with his Demigod destiny, in Wrath of the Titans. What better way to review this movie than to ask a few burning questions and get answers from the one person who will give me an honest answer ? ME!

What?s the plot?

The plot stays relatively simple. ?Perseus teams up with Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) and Agenor (Toby Kebbell) to rescue his father Zeus (Liam Neeson) from Hades (Ralph Finnes)and his evil half demigod brother Ares (Edgar Ramirez). They also must defeat the evil Titans who?ve escaped prison and plan to destroy the world. It sounds like a lot, but it?s nothing two Demigods and a human girl can?t handle.

How is it different from 2010?s Clash?

Well, there are more monsters and en evil half brother. At times, Wrath feels a lot like Clash, but it is indeed its own story. That?s either good or bad depending on how you feel about the franchise. ?Wrath also has more action, 50% less Pegasus, and 75% more Sam Worthington mullet.

What will audiences like?

They?ll enjoy some of the really cool state-of-the-art special effects. ?The evil Titans look pretty good on the big screen. Toby Kebbell is great comic relief as Agenor. He?s like the third wheel comedian in a 80?s buddy cop flick. He?s annoyingly funny, but the two buddies desperately need him for [fill in expertise or something he is singular knowledge of]. Agenor fills that role in and fills it well. He?s easily my favorite part of this film.

Should I see it in 3D?

Not necessary. If you do have money to blow and like wearing plastic glasses, help yourself.

What will make people want to walk out?

The dialogue is dry and boring for the entire film. There are way too many speeches about family, brotherhood, ?how they must come together as one, and blah blah blah blah. Waaaaaaay too much talking and not enough swords swinging.? The pre fight speeches were the first two times, but after the ninth time it?s pretty old. Sam Worthington is someone I want to like, but he performed like a mannequin in a tunic. ?The lifeless way he delivers his lines makes me cringe. Not to mention he spend the entire movie getting his butt kicked. I don?t need my hero to be a punching bag. I know Sam is happily cashing this checks, but this has to stop.

There?s also Perseus? son Helius. He spends the whole time looking like he?s about to cry or he?s constipated. I?m still not sure which one it was. I hated him almost as much as I hate Carl from The Walking Dead????almost. Carl still holds the number one spot.

Also, the movie is 90 minutes, but it paced poorly so it feels much longer. I?m taking to you Unnecessary Ten Minute Scene find a maze that wasn?t even hard to solve.

Will we get to see the big battle we missed in Clash?

Nope. I?m surprised people didn?t throw drinks at the screen. 100 minutes of build up to a 2 minute fight. Audiences will not be pleased.

Was it necessary to toss in a love story at the end?

I?m not sure why that happened. I?m still trying to wash the stink of that scene off me.

How do you really feel?

If you?re a fan of Clash, you may want to buy a ticket for Wrath. If you felt Clash was just ?meh? and needed more work, you?re going to leave with the same frustrations after Wrath. The poor dialogue and plot points that lead nowhere were just too much for me this time around. I couldn?t? wrap my head around seeing Zeues and Hades throw people around like rag dolls as they walk through the battlefield. That scene was sad and funny at the same time.

Wrath of the Titans is an?unnecessary?Clash sequel and hopefully the last.

Assad says foreign aid to rebels must stop under peace plan

BEIRUT (Reuters) - President Bashar al-Assad said on Thursday Syria would spare no effort to ensure the success of international envoy Kofi Annan's peace mission but warned it would not work without securing an end to foreign funding and arming of rebels opposing him.

Assad is under international pressure to call his troops and tanks back to their bases, a year into a popular revolt against his iron rule. Fighting between troops and rebels killed at least 38 more people on Thursday, 15 of them soldiers.

The state news agency SANA quoted Assad, in a letter to the leaders of the BRIC economic powers, which include his key ally Russia, as saying "countries which support the armed groups with money and weapons must be persuaded to stop this immediately".

At the same time, Britain said it was doubling non-military aid to opponents of Assad and expanding its scope to equipment, possibly including secure telephones to help activists communicate more easily without fear of detection and attack.

The aid, worth $800,000, "includes agreement in principle for practical non-lethal support to them inside Syria," Foreign Secretary William Hague said.

Arab leaders at a summit in Baghdad endorsed the peace plan floated by Annan, the special U.N. and Arab League envoy on Syria, and - betraying skepticism about Assad's commitment -- called for it to be implemented "immediately and completely".

The six-point plan envisages a ceasefire, possibly under U.N. monitoring, a withdrawal of heavy weapons and troops from population centers, humanitarian assistance, release of prisoners and free movement and access for journalists to Syria.

Arab League leaders quietly dropped an earlier demand that Assad give up the presidency. The Annan plan, endorsed by the U.N. Security Council, makes no such demand, unlike a previous blueprint for change that was vetoed by Russia and China.

"The solution for the crisis is still in the hands of the Syrians as a government and opposition," Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby told the summit gathering in the Iraqi capital, the first there in 20 years.

Earlier, the League took a line closer to the hardline stance of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, calling for Assad to transfer powers to a deputy to allow for a unity government and early elections.

But a shift in the Arab position transpired after Russia and China blocked a Security Council endorsement of that proposal and the Arab League's own observation mission in Syria unraveled from internal splits, failing to stem the bloodshed.

Syria's opposition groups continue to demand that Assad must go, and have not agreed to any peace talks with his government.

Elaraby called for the Security Council to issue a binding resolution to "not only stipulate the necessity of stopping the violence, but also finding a suitable mechanism to cease fire."

One idea Annan is pushing is a U.N. observer mission, diplomats say, and Elaraby said there had been suggestions that there should be "Arab participation".

ASSAD'S DEMANDS

"President Assad said that for his mission to succeed, Annan must focus on drying up the wells of support for terrorism pointed at Syria, especially from countries which have announced that they are arming and financing the terrorist groups in Syria," SANA reported.

"In return for the formal commitment to the success of Annan's mission it is necessary to obtain commitments from the other parties to halt the terrorist acts by the armed groups and to withdraw the weapons of these groups and call on them to stop their terrorist acts ..." Assad's letter said.

In an apparent reference to Turkey, a former ally that now hosts the rebel Free Syrian Army, he singled out "neighboring countries that harbor these groups and facilitate their terrorist operations".

Assad said a national dialogue would start soon, including "all groups which work for the security and stability" of Syria.

U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon kept up pressure on Assad, saying he must turn his stated acceptance of the peace plan into action, to shift his country off a "dangerous trajectory" with risks for the entire region.

Syria sits at a crossroads of Middle East conflict bordering Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Iraq and Lebanon. Its 23-million population comprises a mix of faiths, sects and ethnic groups whose tensions resonate in neighboring states.

"It is essential that President Assad put those commitments into immediate effect. The world is waiting for commitments to be translated into action. The key here is implementation, there is no time to waste," Ban told the Arab League summit.

OPPOSITION MEETS BACKERS

In Istanbul, Syrian opposition representatives met to try to settle deep internal disputes before the arrival of Western foreign ministers for a "Friends of Syria" conference on Sunday to map out where the year-old uprising is heading.

The chances of Western powers deciding to arm the insurgents at this point appeared to be very remote.

Reports from the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the violence, said at least 23 people and 15 government soldiers were killed nationwide on Thursday - in army raids on villages, in a rebel ambush and in clashes.

SANA said two colonels were assassinated in a morning attack in Aleppo, Syria's second city, while on their way to work. It said gunmen kidnapped Air Force General Mohammad Amr al Darbas in Damascus province.

The United Nations says Assad's forces have killed 9,000 people. Damascus blames foreign-backed "terrorists" for the violence and says 3,000 soldiers and police have been killed.

Western powers have expressed doubt about Assad's stated willingness to implement the peace plan. Russia has urged Western-backed opposition groups to match Damascus and endorse the proposals of Annan, a former U.N. secretary general.

Syria's big-power backers, Russia and China, have turned up the heat on Assad by endorsing the Annan plan, with the unspoken implication that if he fails to act on it, they may be prepared to back action by the U.N. Security Council.

Sunni Muslim powers Saudi Arabia and Qatar have suggested arming Syria's mainly Sunni opposition. But Arab states outside the Gulf, such as Algeria and Shi'ite Muslim-led Iraq, urge more caution, fearing an all-out sectarian war.

"In our experience in Iraq, we see that arming both sides will result in proxy wars regionally and internationally. This option will provide the grounds for foreign military intervention in Syria," Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki told the Arab leaders.

My Parrotlet, Zazu, is a sweetheart and very quiet. Parrotlets are actually incapable of screeching like most birds do. The most noise my Parrotlet makes is occasional light chirping and he likes to copy the soft crunching sound Sunflower seeds make since they?re his favorite treat. He usually chirps when he?s trying to get my attention or if he?s on my shoulder so he?s just talking to me. His cage is even in my bedroom and he doesn?t wake me up since his chirp is so light that it won?t wake you up, though he likes his sleep too so I don?t think he chirps during the night anyway. He loves cuddling and when I pick him up he loves going into my hair and cuddling up to my neck.

Lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or "bad" cholesterol, reduces the risk of CHD, and researchers found that lowering LDL beginning early in life resulted in a three-fold greater reduction in the risk of CHD than treatment with a statin started later in life, according to research presented March 25 at the American College of Cardiology's 61st Annual Scientific Session. The Scientific Session, the premier cardiovascular medical meeting, brings cardiovascular professionals together to further advances in the field.

By the time most people begin treatment to lower LDL, CHD has often been quietly developing for decades. Because coronary atherosclerosis begins early in life, lowering LDL at a younger age may produce even greater reductions in the risk of CHD. Researchers sought to test this hypothesis by using genetic data to conduct a series of "natural" randomized controlled trials involving over one million study participants.

"Our study shows that the benefit of lowering LDL cholesterol depends on both the timing and the magnitude of LDL reduction," said Brian A. Ference, MD, MPhil, MSc, FACC, director of the cardiovascular genomic research center at Wayne State University School of Medicine and the study's principal investigator. "The increased benefit of lowering LDL beginning early in life appeared to be independent of how LDL was lowered. This means that diet and exercise are probably as effective as statins or other medications at reducing the risk of CHD when started early in life."

Lowering LDL cholesterol at an early age, before the development of atherosclerosis, would understandably be more effective at reducing heart attacks, but testing this hypothesis has proven difficult. A conventional randomized trial would have to follow a very large number of young, asymptomatic people for several decades to test this hypothesis. As an alternative, researchers used a novel study design called a Mendelian randomized controlled trial (mRCT) to study the effect of nine single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), or single-letter changes in DNA sequence, each of which is associated with lower levels of LDL cholesterol. Because each of these SNPs is allocated randomly at the time of conception, inheriting one of these SNPs is like being randomly allocated to a treatment that lowers LDL cholesterol beginning at birth. The researchers found that all nine SNPs were associated with a consistent 50-60 percent reduction in the risk of CHD for each 1 mmol/L (38.67 mg/dl) lower lifetime exposure to LDL cholesterol. Lowering LDL by 2 mmol/L (77.34 mg/dl) could reduce the risk of CHD by almost 80 percent.

"The results of our study demonstrate that the clinical benefit of lowering LDL can be substantially improved by initiating therapies to lower LDL cholesterol beginning early in life," Dr. Ference said.

Coronary heart disease is the most common cause of death and disability throughout the world. Treatment of CHD and its risk factors is costly and consumes a large proportion of health care expenditures. Dr. Ference believes that the results of this study suggest that focusing on prolonged and sustained reductions in LDL cholesterol beginning early in life has the potential to substantially reduce the global burden of CHD.

Chemical analysis of that ?floc? linked it to the chemical composition of oil spewing from the wellhead, suggesting the material in some way forms after exposure to oil. Because deepwater corals live so long and grow at a biologically glacial pace, it could be years before the full effect of the oil spill on deepwater corals is known, scientists say.

Helen White, a geochemist at Haverford College in Pennsylvania, and her colleagues report the finding online the week of March 26 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"He feels like he's let everybody down, let his teammates down, and I told him he didn't," Porter said.

El Salvador reached the semifinals, putting it a win away from its first Olympic berth since 1968. Canada, which tied Cuba 1-1 earlier, finished second. Lester Blanco and Andres Flores also scored for El Salvador, a team coach Mauricio Alfaro pointed out had less than two weeks to prepare for this tournament and didn't have the whole roster together until late.

"It was just incredible," Alfaro said of the win through an interpreter.

But Alfaro also said he had told his players to shoot more in the second half to try to pressure Johnson and the El Salvadoran coach said he did feel Johnson made a mistake on Alas' kick.

"The shot didn't have much power," Alfaro said through the interpreter.

Terrence Boyd scored twice for the U.S., and Johnson replaced keeper Bill Hamid in the 39th minute.

After a 2-0 loss to Canada in the second of this three-game, round-robin tournament, the Americans needed to win to advance.

So did El Salvador, and the crowd of 7,889 was about evenly split between the countries keeping the U.S. from a true home-field advantage at LP Field, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. El Salvador survived a physical game with plenty of yellow cards on each side.

Boyd went to the sideline with blood on the front of his shirt late in the game. Diskerud said both he and Adu were bitten and showed reporters marks as proof.

"Part of the game, I guess," Diskerud said.

The U.S. had a little bit of time left to try and go ahead but couldn't get anything going before the game ended. The result leaves the Americans adding 2012 to 2004 and 1976 as years they failed to qualify for the Olympics, missing out on a 15th appearance overall.

Boyd got his first start in this round-robin tournament with Juan Agudelo recovering from surgery in New York to fix torn cartilage in his left knee, and Boyd gave the Americans the scoring boost they missed against Canada on Saturday night. Hamid rolled covering up a ball and appeared to hurt his ankle midway through the first half.

El Salvador took advantage by scoring two goals in two minutes to grab the lead and the momentum. Blanco scored on a header off a corner kick over Hamid's hands in the 35th minute, and Flores beat Hamid in the 37th minute off what had been a weak shot by Alas that turned into a cross. U.S. coach Caleb Porter pulled Hamid in the 39th minute, putting in 6-foot-4 Johnson for his first appearance in this round-robin tournament.

There is a significant training component to this position. It will focus on developing shooting and editing skills, particularly those related to iPhone videos.

The chosen candidate will assist with helping to focus and better implement our newsroom-wide multimedia strategy. That will include editing and coordinating everything from clip video to highly produced multimedia projects. A special emphasis will include the continuing evolution of our photo department from a focus on the still image to one that embraces multimedia daily.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following:

2-4 years experience as working visual journalist (video or photo)
Applicants must have proficiency with Final Cut Pro and DSLR cameras.
Working experience in Photoshop, Motion, Soundtrack and Aperture is also a requirement.
Working experience with Final Cut, Avid and basic video editing tools
Experience with production in PC and Mac-based software.
Experience with production using mobile tools and equipment
In addition, this person should have a grasp of all social media best practices.
